Veggie Burger
Ever wondered why McDonalds is so famous?? Well the reason is largely because of the perfect recipe they have! It takes a lot of time to make this, but trust me it’s worth all the effort. This burger is so delicious that you will forget all the effort with the first bite! Outstandingly inviting dish..enough to satisfy all sort of taste buds!

Ingredients
  • 3-4 potatoesMedium (preboiled and cold potat as per your test
  • 8 Buns as per your test
  • 1/2 Mayonnaise as per your test
  • 1 cup Lettuce Iceberg as per your test
  • 1 cup Rice Flakes as per your test
  • 1 medium Onion (chopped) as per your test
  • 1 medium Carrot (chopped) as per your test
  • 1/4 cup Beans (chopped) as per your test
  • 1/4 cup Peas as per your test
  • salt as per your test
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter
For spice mix:
  • 1/4 Turmeric Powder
  • Salt as per your taste
  • 1/4 tsp Mango Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin
  • 1/4 tsp Parsley
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
For batter:
  • 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Corn Starch
  • 1/4 Corn Meal / Makki ka Atta
  • 1/4 tbsp Refined Vegetable Oil
  • Salt or As Per Your Taste
  • 1/2 Ice Cold Water

  • 1/2 Ice Cold Water
Instructions
  1. Mix all the powders given under “spice mix” section I used the old mortar-pestle for mixing
  2. Mix all the powders.
  3. Wash and soak poha in water for 10 minutes
  4. Then crush & squeeze it with your hands well. It will become like a dough. Keep it covered & set aside.
  5. Chop the carrots, beans, onions and peas keep it in hot water till use.
  6. In a pan, heat butter and saute till onions turn transparent
  7. Now add the carrot, beans, peas and saute till it becomes soft.
  8. Add some salt to quicken the cooking process
  9. Lastly add the mashed potato
  10. Add the spice powder mix.Adjust salt, mix well & mash it with the back of ladle. Turn off the flame
  11. Finally add the soaked & squeezed poha, mix well and mash it
  12. So mash it really well and make the entire mixture to a thick dough. Let it cool.
  13. After the mixture is cooled down, wrap it in a polythene sheet like a cylinder as shown in the picture.
  14. Cover the edges using a rubber band. Refrigerate it for one hour.
  15. After 1 hour, remove the patty dough and roll it tightly. Cut it into roundels.
  16. Refer picture below. The size of the patty should be same as size of bun
  17. Roll the patty on the kitchen counter to bring uniform thickness and to make a perfect round.
  18. To prepare bread crumbs, remove the sides i.e brown part of the bread and grind it in a mixer. Keep it aside.
  19. For the batter, mix all the ingredients given under “for batter” and add little water to make it like a thick dosa like batter.
  20. Now dip the patty in batter and then into bread crumbs. Repeat the same steps one more time to get crispy texture.
  21. Now heat oil on a low flame and deep fry the partty both sides until it turns golden brown. Please note that, if the oil is too hot, patty will burn.
  22. Once deep fried, remove & drain using tissue.
For arranging the burger :
  1. Take the burger bun and slit into two roundels. Toast in dosa pan by drizzling some butter. Take one bun and apply mayonnaise using a spoon.
  2. Place some chopped lettuce on top
  3. Place patty on top of lettuce, followed by cheese slice on top. Cover it with second toasted bun. Burger is ready, serve hot
